The director Bunuel entrusted the wardrobe to the then almost fashion 'God' designer, Yves Saint Laurent, who in turn engaged the footwear to Roger Vivier, who had already made quite a reputation after 10 years with the House of Dior. Just for his shoes with wide heels, squared toed and buckles, all revolutionary details then, he earned the position of being in the Olympus amongst the greats of fashion.

But this legendary shoe-designer (1907-1998) was/is even better known for his stilettos. Ava Gadner adored them, Queen Elisabeth wore some on her coronation, Rothschild had a collection exhibited on the shelves in his library.

Now, more than 400 unique models belonging to the Master himself would be placed in an auction in the Hotel Des Ventes of Neuilly of Paris on the 30th of November. One can acquire the identical ones as those conserved in the museums Victoria & Albert, Metropolitan or Galliera of Paris; also sketches and private photos.

It's that there is life further than Louboutin and Jimmy Choo.
