5th Aug 2012 Life In A Nutshell - Learning To Live ...

Aug05A
We live our life each day learning to live. When we think we learn enough how to really live, we die.

We work each day learning to do it better, when we've learned to do it really well as a professional, we retire & go fishing instead.
We learn even from childhood from our fathers how to fish. When we've learned enough to be able to always go home with fish for supper, we find that we need to work and no time to fish any more; or no more teeth to eat it, and die ...

Life is a continuous process of learning, but the only diploma we get at the end is the certificate of death. We don't even get that; the surviving family members do. Life is a trap ...

Yes a trap; but what a delightful and delicious one!

5th Aug 2012 Tweenty Four Hours With Marilyn

Aug 05
Today 50 years ago the entire world mourned the death of Marilyn Monroe. That shocking news was on the front page of every single press worldwide; all other happenings, international, national, political, social ... took small spaces on other less important pages.

Today, once again half a century later, in Spain anyway, all media dedicate tributes, memorial & reminiscent news and reports to her, occupying more media pages than the Olympic games. She was never the most beautiful woman in the world, nor had the sexiest or most alluring figure but far from a perfect one, but the combination of all that's uniquely her, all her attractive qualities as well as her imperfections. She was, and still is, the most unforgettable woman ever lived even way after her death, doubtlessly, Forever Marilyn.

That is the Title, 'Forever Marilyn', for the 24 hour marathon homage in ample variety of exhibitions, media coverage, songs, books poems, including the projection of some of her most successful films in her comparatively brief cinematic career, on the Channel Divinity. As cherry topping on the cake for unconditional fans, The Mediaset chain premières today in advance 'Smash', Steven Spielberg's series that tells the making of the Broadway musical on MM, that the channel is programmed to emit for the next season. In all 8 films including 'The Millionaire', 'Bus Stop', 'Niagara', 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes', 'How To Marry A Millionaire', '7 Year Itch', 'River With No Return','The Prince & The Call Girl' (Arguably, with myself, my favourite; or maybe it's 'Some Like It Hot'; I will never know for sure!)

Each film will be preceded by a brief documentary about the life & work of MM during that period, on & off the set. At the end of the marathon projection, Divinity will offer a compact-condensed version under the title of '50 years without Marilyn'.

Apart from Divinity, other channels also emit related documentaries such as 'The last session' referring to the last photo session; her relationships, personal & professional, with others almost as famous people.
