Fancy A Double? ~

Neil was in a pub, extremely drunk. The barman, Simon, noticed this, and when Neil asked for another whisky, the barman politely told him that he was too drunk to be served another drink.

Neil leaves. He walks out of the pub and in again at the side door and asks Simon for a double whisky. A little frustrated, Simon repeats the answer he had said earlier.

Again Neil leaves and enters through a further side door, walks up to the barman and asks for a Scotch. Simon is now quite annoyed, and tells Neil he is too drunk and to get a ride home and leave the pub.

Once more, Neil leaves. Again he comes in, this time through the back door. Neil walks up to the barman and before he can say a word, Simon explodes and shouts at him, "I told you already, you are way too drunk, you can not have another whisky. Get out of my bar!"

Disgruntled, Neil glares at Simon and asks, "Man, how many bars do you work at?"

20th July 2012 Soaring Into The Clouds ...

July 20
Have you ever dreamt of flying? You alone, I mean, not in an airplane, just gliding or zooming through clouds with your arms outstretched like a bird? I have, more times than I can count, with my hair streaming straight out behind my head, feeling weightless, elated and somewhat perplexed, not sure whether where I am going. Usually nowhere, as I always wake up without ever reaching any destination.

It started in my early teen years and repeated often, with almost the same sequence each time. The phenomenonal experience nearly always leaves me, on waking, with delicious exhaustion almost like the after effect of passionate love activities. Then, they suddenly stopped, for months or years but would start again; same excitement during the 'flight', same delicious after effect, same puzzlement in the morning, with more & more curiosity mounting up and my hungry desire to know more about the workings of the mind when one dreams, and why the re-occurrence over and over? And, what makes it stop albeit merely temporarily? What influences my mind to keep repeating the same dreams for the most part of my life?

The last gap had been after about 4 years. Now I am flying again, with a difference this time. Somehow, the excitement had gone out, I just feel very perplexed, but with an urgent desire to know why, why the dream, why the same dream and, why am I not excited about it any more, but almost disturbed!

My personal experience apart, I have always been very curious about dreams in general; so very varied, pleasant or sad, colourful or gloomy, mysterious or terrifying, but always fascinating. Is there any concrete ways and means for me to learn more about them?
