Sea Shadow, the ingenious naval ship that in it's day one of the major secrets of the US warships, is now just about to be auctioned as scrape metal. The prototype remained hidden until 1993, the year when it showed the world it's futuristic shapes and forms, the design created to avoid visual detection and acoustics. The latest technology applied in an invisible ship by radars of the enemy. Now the ship will be dismantled and sold as scrape metal. In total 583 tons of dreams of military grandeur at a price of liquidation.
Who knows, perhaps in a few years, we will have in our hands a little piece of that rattletrap which, in the process of melting, found a new life. The next drill or bore, the metal edge of your car wheel, the cooker pot where you slow-stew your meat for hours on a winter day. With little bit of effort of imagination we can even smell the warm and enticing aroma of the hot pot supper.
Thus, with some bubbling and boiling, the material in it's day designed for battle of death will have a second life under the order of giving pleasure. Between the original and the later objective, huge amount of money, intelligence and manpower will have been lost and, at the end, imposing the obvious, that humanity needs more nourishing stew than military ships constructed to enrich companies, friends of the governments and the ego of glory of wars. How very intelligent is the scrape metal!
