4th July 2012 I Am Bewitched ...

July 04B
Found this ancient scroll about the qualities & definitions of a witch. If they are truly as so defined, they are marvellous beings! I want to be one! Even a witch without magic powers!Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Several aspects for me to ponder on & to be curious about: -

  • Are there really witches? The ones with magic powers?
  • Are all that listed there true qualities and virtues?
  • Who anyway made those definitions & when?
  • If they are so wonderful, why are they shunned even feared by so many?
  • Is one born a witch or can she learn to be one?
  • If so, how then does one learn? A class? A Witch Instructress?
  • If & when I have learned all I need to, who is to pronounce that I am officially a witch?

They are bewitching!
I am bewitched!
How do I go about becoming one?

4th July 2012 Monkey Business

July 04A
A scientific experiment has revealed that when a monkey stretches out his arms to reach for the banana, he feels more intense pleasure than when he has reached it. The strong desire to get the fruit produces a bio-substance called Dopamine, a neurotransmitter which works in conjunction to the brain, to regulate movement and emotion, excites & activates the brain cells to reproduce themselves & increase, thus replacing the 10 million cells which apparently died every second, at least in the case of humans. What a thought!

With this proven discovery, our more sophisticated human brain must benefit much more, as our journey to our banana is infinitely longer. It requires more advanced planning & execution, visualizing & pondering over, day after day, feeding & nourishing in our longing towards this fruit in our imagination; savouring the yearning & anticipating the eventual success, even though all that is but a hope. The adrenalin though must have by then turned to this essential Dopamine. We also have more desires of different nature, other than just the banana.

This monkey business once more illustrates the wisdom, that life's journey is more significant than the destination. Even with some undesirable or unavoidable detours & mistakes along the way.

Desire is pleasure in itself; manifestation of being alive. The monkey shows us that!

The Mon Or The Sun? ~
Paddy and Seamus were walking home from the pub. Paddy says to Seamus, "What a beautiful night, look at the moon."

Seamus stops and looks at Paddy, "You are wrong, that's not the moon, that's the sun." Both started arguing for a while when they come upon a real drunk walking in the other direction, so they stopped him.

"Sir, could you please help settle our argument? Tell us what that thing is up in the sky that's shining. Is it the moon or the sun?"

The drunk looked at the sky and then looked at them, and said,
"Sorry, I don't live around here."

Irish Job Application ~
Murphy applied for a fermentation operator post at a famous Irish firm based in Dublin. An American applied for the same job and since both applicants had similar qualifications, they were asked to take a test of 20 questions by the Manager. When the results were in, amazingly, both men had only one wrong answer.

The manager went to Murphy and said,
"Thank you for coming to the interview, but we’ve decided to give the American the job."

Murphy: "And why would you be doing that? We both got 19 questions correct. This being Ireland and me being Irish surely I should get the job."

Manager: " We have made our decision not on the correct answers, but on the question you missed."
Murphy: " And just how would one incorrect answer be better than the other? "

Manager: " Simple. On question number 7 the American wrote down, 'I don’t know.' You put down, "Neither do I."
