16th Mar 2012 My Random Trivial Thoughts Today ...

Mar 16A
** Somebody said: 'With women, everything always goes very well ... until it inevitably goes very wrong. (Me: Very much the same with men)

** Somebody else said: ' ... Our very close friendship lasted until XX's death.' To me, friendship doesn't die with someone's death. I lost my soul mate, the man I almost marry had he not died in an accident. That was in my teen years. I still think of him, dream about him, talk about him to myself and others, in present tense. He would never die in my heart and thoughts; nor our friendship, till I too, am dead.

** The Spanish film director, Emilio Martinez Lazaro said: 'Monogamy is unnatural and it doesn't exist. Love does.' His 2 recent movies are 'The other side of the bed' and 'Both sides of the bed'. (I got the impression he is somewhat obsessed with bed, not love)

** I was recently introduced to a lovely red wine I never tried before: 'Lohennes 2007 Crianza, with distinct and seductive aroma that develops with every sip. €30. I certainly can't afford that as a daily table wine. My regular one is 'Margues de Cacerres, about €7.80 in supermarkets but more in wine shops. 'Strange that, shouldn't it be the other way around?

16th Mar 2012 A Nun's Story - Disturbing News

A nun's story ~
For the 1st time in Spain, a non is implicated & being investigated by the police, charged with robbery of babies, for gains through adoption. Not just that, also blackmail, threatening a woman to make her adultery public if she didn't agree to give up her baby in adoption, as the pregnancy was the result of the adultery. The threat included taking her other legitimate daughter being taking away from her.

The course of this investigation had led to another morally disturbing discovery of the increasing phenomenon of babies robbed, round 2,000 denouncements. The authorities of Justice and Police have opened up further investigation, and orders given to open up a number of graves, some of them empty.

The National Association of the affected parents are claiming justice for the irregular & illegal adoptions.

What price for beauty ~
Is not so much the money, but the consequence. The Spanish tabloid magazine 'Cuore', published in their new issue 'Before' & 'After' photos of many actresses & celebrities who had submitted to plastic surgery to alter their appearance, some without real need to, just vanity, with different degree of results; some successful some disastrous. Unfortunately, It would seem that there's more of the latter.

Photos include Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Hall Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow ... amongst many famous others.

Most certainly, one should practice one of the golden rules in life 'Always think before you leap'.
