The egg that made news in China ~
A hen in China has produced a soft-shelled egg in the shape of a figure eight or hour-glass. A photograph was taken to record this strange phenomena:
Strange Double Egg
Mrs Dong, of Shijiazhuang, northern China's Hebei province, first suspected something unusual when she heard the hen making strange noises one night. 'I had never heard anything like it before. When I approached she stopped making the noise but as soon as I left she started again,' she said. 'The next morning, I was so surprised to find the weird-shaped egg in the hen's cage.'

Mrs Dong has decided not to sell or eat the egg but is keeping it, preserved in a box, because it is so unusual.

Professor Wu Yuefeng of Hebei University's Life Science department, commented 'It's very rare to see such a weird-shaped egg. This will be the result of a lack of calcium in the hen's diet which has prevented it from creating a hard shell.

Legend of the Chinese Dragon ~

Chinese Dragon Legend

The farther dragons travel from their home in China, the more toes they lose. Fortunately, Will and Guy have discovered, when wandering dragons return home to China, all their missing toes grow back. Since most dragons would prefer to keep all their toes, all the time, few dragons ever wander very far from home.

In addition to China, Korea and Japan use dragons in their art. Fortunately, it's easy to tell the difference: just count the dragon's toes.

  1. Chinese dragons have five toes.
  2. Korean dragons have four toes.
  3. Japanese dragons have three toes.

26th Jan 2012 To Google Or Not To Google?

On the same day when United Europe proposed to a reform of their laws to guarantee the privacy of Internet users, Google took a stride exactly to the opposite direction. The Giant of the Net announced yesterday a change of their politic regarding privacy, permitting tracking the trails and preferences of their users in more than 60 of their web sites, from their Search to Gmail to You Tube. The objective of the company is to be able to exploit the findings for their publicity clients, being able to offer the advertisers more exact information of users' preferences and tastes, the key point of any successful business.

Essentially, what Google will do is to integrate all the information collected from their different sites, be it when a user activates his Android phone, enters the page of email, or keys in certain term on the Search. According to Google, the changes will not apply until the 1st of march and, till then, those who don't agree with the new policy re. security of privacy, are invited to terminate their connection with the company. In other words, take it or leave it.

The only Google programmes not included in the new policy are: Google Books, Google Wallet & Google Chrome, governed by contracts of varied privacy different from the rest of the group. While many users feel concerned about their interests being exploited commercially, Google defends the changes as a positive step to improve and enrich the experiences of the users.

For instance, if someone put forth the word Jaguar in the Search, Google will offer more references to define whether you are looking for info. about an animal or a car. I am quite certain that the user hardly gets too upset over the confusion of that, but what he does in his free time, or where he keeps the family treasure, or with whom he commits adultery ...
