1st July 2012 Amazing Dog Tricks

July 01A

** An amazingly talented Tibetan mastiff called Tiger (Hu Hu) dog has performed a breathtaking high wire stunt in front of thousands of spectators in his home city Chongging, in China.

Tiger was some 4 metres above the ground and walked across a 10 metre gap on two thin steel wires:
a remarkable feat by any standards.
But please do not try this stunt with your dog at home.

** A Jack Russell dog is stunning visitors to a farm by showing off his horse riding skills.

Freddie leaps on the back of his neighbour's Shetland pony Daisy for a trot around the paddock of Peglars Farm, in Flaxley, Gloucestershire. Owner Patricia Swinley said the dog was a ' natural' jockey
whose equestrian skills have blossomed.

'When he first saw Daisy he rushed across the yard and just jumped straight on her back, 'she said.

Freddie, who has been nicknamed the Flaxley Flier,
is often to be seen riding round the 25-acre farm and Daisy, who stands at just 37 inches tall
provides the perfect taxi, for her pal.
'The children love to come and see him, 'Mrs Swinley said.
'I guess it is a rather peculiar sight.'

1st July 2012 Picasso's Genes

July 01
Apparently, it's all in the genes. Five art exhibition in Barcelona recently redeemed the overlooked paintings of the nephew of Picasso, Javier Vilato (1921 - 2000) well regarded in France since 1946, but till now not so much in his own town, being somewhat in the shadow of his uncle, 'The' world famous Picasso.

Xavier Vilato, son of Javier Vilato, thinks that the best thing his father did, was the paintings of his uncle on the walls of the house. It's of the experts' opinion that Picasso the genius thought of him as the son he never had. It was his grandmother, Maria Picasso, who taught and helped him to prepare the canvas. No surprise that the two artists' styles share some similar artistry.

170 paintings exhibited are distributed in 5 locations, all more or less related to the family. The exhibition was as a homage to an artist of painting, engraving, etching, sketching and sculpture, equally adroit in all of them, very much like his uncle.

I do see the similarities.
