The rare ~~~
There are just 90 of this very rare bird, kakapo, a nocturnal parrot, native to New Zealand. It's the only parrot that can't fly. The extraordinary photo below was capture at a metre's distance by the photographer Shanne McInnes. It is the largest of all parrot and with the longest life span compared with other birds. The are excellent climbers that, in some occasions use their wings as parachutes, but not able to fly any distance. The male can reach 70 centimetres and weighs between 4 to 5 kilos, classified as endangered species.
The Unusual ~~~
The world's smallest shoes, to date, registered in the Guinnes Book of Records. This pair was exhibited earlier in the year in Hong Kong. They fit with space to spare on the 'moon' of a thumb nail, measuring 3,8 millimetre long, 1,8 wide and 2,2 high.
