From Anna Mae To Tina Turner

In 2009 & In her 60's, well, 69 to be exact, Anna Mae Bullock, much better known as Tina Turner, was still in her miniest miniskirt shaking up the whole world. She started as her first of her European stretch in Cologne, Germany, part of the planned world tour of 74 concerts, following the 37 already completed in the United States and Canada. It started off on the 1st of November, in Kansas City, and is scheduled to continue from Germany to Belgium, Austria, Holland and Ireland.

In the Lanxess Stadium of Cologne, she injected energy and enthusiasm to all, and encouraged many middle-aged women to reflect on themselves, that being close to 70 years' of age is nothing to be afraid of and or sad about; knowing how to look after yourself and most of all, with the right and positive attitude, life is anything but over.

Not only she was as active as ever, her fame of the Queen of Pop had not diminished, having sold more than 170 million discs & launched her double CD titled 'Tina'. She once had a German partner and lived in Cologne, for which the city adored her specially, although there's talk that she was somewhat distant. Like most stars. To be expected as, any friendly gesture or just a smile, could lead to over enthusiastic fans to press for autographs, intent to get bodily close for photos of her, with themselves included if at all possible, pulling bits of her clothing or whatever she carried or had merely touched, for keepsakes; hang around doors where she might have entered or departing, at the psychologist's or even the dentist's. Famous stars have no choice but keep distance and surround themselves with bodyguards, managers, trainers, and whatever or whoever necessary. Fame and privacy simply don't go together.

I have never been her fan; I don't much like her kind of what I call 'noisy' music, which to me always seems too much of the former and not enough of the latter. But I admire her very much how she had made her life from a very humble background to what she is today, and most especially, her optimistic outlook and that inexhaustible energy of hers.
