Stones & Genitals - Lucky Throw

Have you ever thrown stones ladies, aiming to hit the genitals of a Saint? Neither have I.

I couldn't believe that through my own ignorance first than forgetfulness later, I some how always miss the opportunity of finding myself an ideal man, on St. Anton's Day. Having been living in Spain for years, I just can't understand how, being very hungry and nosy as I always am about finding out local cultures, traditions and customs, I had missed discovering this particulate date, on which unwed or unattached women, of whatever age, should go to the Hermitage of Saint Anton, in Mijas, Malaga. Where, for centuries, these women would go to throw 3 little stones, aiming at the genitals of the figure of Saint Anton. If you succeed in hitting at the right spot, you are guaranteed to find yourself an ideal man.

Each year on St. Aton's day, usually more than 500 ladies entrusting their throwing skill hoping for the effortless reward of a perfect partner. Even if you didn't do well enough to hit the genitals of Saint Anton 3 times in succession, you will still be rewarded with a plate of 'Callos' - pig intestines stewed with spices, tomato, onion and chilli; sounds off putting to some for sure, but it's really a very delicious dish.

The only problem was that in the recent few years, more for the Hermitage than for the hopeful visitors, was that the original image figure of Saint Anton had been hit so many times for so many years, that they had to substitute it with another, with the ancient one put inside on one of the altars. But the ladies, apparently many of them, would seek out the original figure to continue throwing stones at him, believing that he would give more positive results than a 'newcomer'!

The Brotherhood stressed over and over again each year, that the miracle was not made by the image figure, but by Saint Anton. Many ladies feel content enough to wait throughout the year for the Godsend. I should think being so confident and hopeful would certainly make their character more attractive to secure boyfriends anyway. Others who had unfortunately missed their aim would have to wait for St Anton's Day next year. Unless they, like me, believe more in self help. Besides, I don't want a Saint that's perfect in every way; that would be too scary!

I wonder, what happens if a gay guy throw the stones & hit the target 3 times in succession??
