A
colossal sculpture of 20 metres in height by the Spanish Artist Jaume
Plensa of Barcelona, dominates, since the day when it was inaugurated,
in the horizon of St. Helens, a locality closely bounded to the coal
mines up to the 90's, midway between the cities of Liverpool and
Manchester, England.
Nominated as 'Dream', the design was inspired by the conversation the artist had with the old miners and people of the neighbourhood. Whatever your opinion might be, it's certainly very imposing as art and unmistakable landmark, when you see how it seems to be reaching up to the sky, with the minuteness of the multitude of visitors and revellers during the inauguration. ![]() Tag:Dream-Sculpture |
