Still
having some difficulty ridding my mind of the tragic end of a dear
friend, I just didn't seem to be able to settle down to my usual routine
again, yet. I remember reading the announcement a few days ago, about a
collection of erotic films of Vampires, offered by the newspaper, 2 of
them every weekend for several weeks, for just €1 each. With the paper
of course if not a subscriber. I am not, so that means paying another
€1. I reckon €2 is still dirt cheap for a good film.
This week they are about vampires and mythical beasts with supper natural powers. These are not my normal favourite kind of movies but I don't feel normal now, so I thought maybe they were just what I needed to get myself out of the morbid thoughts.

Yesterday's was a 1970 film of Jean Rollin. The story is about a beautiful young woman who's mixed up with a group of people with suicidal tendencies. Damn, that's certainly not the stuff I needed to cheer me up!! Too late, the money was paid and it's against my principal not to get something out of it. So I brought it home.
Oh, there were men too in the story who hide behind masks of animals, subjugating women leading them to perversion. Now I was pretty convinced that it's not my cup of tea at all. So I gave it to one of the waitresses there in my cafe this morning.
On my way home I went and got the film going with today's paper. 'The Beast', 1975, of Walerian Boroowczyk (never heard of him). In this one, a beautiful (aren't there any not so beautiful women at all in films?) heiress who was about to get married, passed some days before the wedding in the mansion of her future husband. She got terribly excited with the horses, the Gothic atmosphere, black literature and bad company. She became obsessed with the story of Romilda de L'Esperance, an ancestor of her fiance. According to rumours, Romilda had maintained sexual relationship with a mysterious beast, hairy and lustful, that hid in the nearby woods, where she began some delirious experiences.
I am not sure about this one either!
