A Matter Of Forbidden Fruit

Tossa de Mar is another coastal town close to my home, Roses. Very beautiful beach town, more peaceful than Roses and quieter. More native visitors and less international tourists. There the authority has just announced that they are about to prohibit making love on the beach, as well as bachelor's parties, considering these noisy, raunchy and of extreme bad taste. I for one applaud this latter.

As far as taste goes, such parties I know about, for bachelors of either sex, were nearly always of the category one could only describe as degrading and vulgar, be these celebrated on the beach or elsewhere. While they are on the move of prohibition, many suggest that they should also prohibit washing animals in public places like streets, or shaking off carpets there or from their balconies, contaminating the air and covering the unsuspecting pedestrians with clouds of dirt and dust. I most certainly support that too.

As to the prohibition of making love on the beach, I think an order like this would likely have the entirely opposite effect. In a very quiet town like Tossa de Mar, just a wee bit old fashioned even, where the idea of making love on the beach had never been known or even thought of; the prohibition would seem more like an invitation. You know, the theory of 'the forbidden fruit ...' ?

In fact, who hasn't made love on the beach, at least once in their life time?
