12th June 2011 The World We Live In - Singular, Strange Yet Marvellous

June 12
A strange marriage -
The bride is a lady in the painting! Apparently is symbolically valid. Tomash Urynovich, a Polish man of 37 years reckoned he had found the lady of his dreams, painted on canvas. He spent the next 10 years looking for the lady, although he knew full well the painting was dated 1955. As he failed to find her, he married the painting.

~ Hope for both their sakes, that his 'wife', the real living and breathing model, is not a nun or, happily married to someone else and now (unknowingly) a bigamist.

The pain of lovesickness -
The magazine 'Proceedings of the National Academy of Science' had actually measured the brain activities of 40 people with broken hearts and came to the conclusion that rejection or rebuff of love affects the part of the brain causing physically perceptible pain, like a mild burn.

~ Presumably, like a burn, also could reach 2nd or 3rd degrees? Or worse?

The amazing power of gold -
One ounce of pure gold can stretch up to form a thread of 80 kilometres long, and a mere 1 gram can convert itself in a tear-drop of one square metre!

~ Absolutely incredible!!!

In process -
A Spanish painter/illustrator of Valencia, Rafael Boluda Vidal of 70 years, is working non-stop to complete a water colour, of 150 metres long, to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the world's biggest water colour. He is inspired by classic-mythical figures and characters

~ May he live a very, very long life to enjoy the success and admiration of his work.

The upside-down house -
This house in Putbus, Germany, is totally upside-down, including the furniture inside. Tables, chairs, bed ... are all nailed upside-down to stop them falling. People who are curious are allowed in to see.

~ Just look, don't sit on a chair or try the bed. You are bound to fall. I would sure like to know what is the purpose of building this house? Tourist attraction to boost the economy of the area?
