7th July 2011 Armani Fashion Dedicated To Japan's Tsunami Victims

July 07A
On Tuesday the world famous Italian designer Giorgio Armani, staged his latest collection in Paris, entitled 'Hommage au Japon', haute couture fashion with ultra-wealthy clients pondering issues no deeper than which £70,000 dress to wear with which handmade Jimmy Choo shoes. This one, however is as Armani said: a 'creative gesture' to back up the brand's financial aid in support of the victims of Tsunami disaster happened in March.

The entire collection carried the theme of Japan with silk and velvet dresses and gowns, with printed lotus flowers, obi belts, elegant piled-up hair-dos. all geisha chic. He has been attempting to get couture to look outside it's rarefied environment by dedicating his PrivĂ© couture collection to recovery efforts in Japan. The show demonstrates a social conscience and makes commercial sense.

As all his shows, this one too was attended by great number of high society ladies, top name celebrities and movie stars, including a couple of European royal family members.
Perhaps some disaster victims might even have sweet dreams that night, seeing themselves dressed in such exquisite gowns, with the world under their feet instead of crushing on top of them.GeishaChic 2
