Simple Brain Test ~
Here
is an achievable logic test. I am going to ask you the same four
questions that Anderson Consulting asked their volunteers. They claim
that 90% of professionals got all four answers wrong. To rub salt into
the wound, they claim that 20% of 8 year olds got at least one
question correct.
Now
I want you to trust me giving you some useful advice. I really want
you to get all four questions correct and thumb your nose at the
refrigerator test.
(Advice: The killer edge is that we should go slower, and think more logically than the 90% who failed the refrigerator test.)
Q1. How do you put a large giraffe into a refrigerator?
(Advice:
Ask your self why did 90% of professional people go wrong while 8 year
olds get this right. Conclusion: The answer must be simple. So think
like an 8 year old. How would you put your toy giraffe in the fridge?)
This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.
Q2. How do you put a large elephant into a refrigerator?
(Advice:
Again ask how could a child answer this correctly, what are they good
at? Answers: short term memory, simple step by step logic.)
This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your actions.
Q3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend, except one. Which animal does not attend?
This tests your memory.
(OK, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your abilities.)
Q.4: There is a river you must cross, but crocodiles inhabit it. How do you manage it?
(Advice:
Again remember that somehow, 8 year olds solved it. How could you
cross the river? Remember how each question follows on from the
previous one. What does question 3 tell us that could possibly help
answer this question? I also believe that an 8 year old would take the
word 'you' at face value and therefore make the crucial deduction.)
This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.
