Ageless Beauty

Nov 04
Even in this era of tireless aspirations and efforts to attain eternal youth and beauty, the relentless passing of time mercilessly marches on. Men get old, as the rest of all creatures, but it would seem that women don't. They just mature these days, gradually, almost imperceptibly. Many even manage to become more radiant than when they were younger.

Gone were the days when a woman of say 40, the age when she would have a better chance of getting hit by an atom bomb than by a hopeful suitor. The Hollywood actress Glenn Close said when she was asked about her age? " If you have never tasted an apple before, would you prefer to take a green one or a ripe one? "

Today's women are like a good wine, that becomes better and better with the years. But, it's only logical to assume that, if you conserve an inferior quality wine to begin with, adding years would only make it become an old or vintage bad wine wouldn't it?

In any case, I think most women choose a particular age and happily install herself in it. When I was about 12, because of my precociousness both mentally and physically, I aspired to be, and went about imitating being 17. When I was 17, I hated being that and couldn't wait to be 20.

The most adorable age for a woman, I think, is when she is about 30 - 35, when she has had enough of childish fun and games, has gained more knowledge academically as well as of life, more sure of herself, more positive about her goal, more confident and capable to face adversities, and processes the audacity to make sensible decisions to combat them, with the measured courage and just the right amount of caution to grab opportunities life offers.

More helpful than any beauty products, any professional facial and corporal treatments or pampering in Beauty Salons, gym routines and balanced diets, I think the peace of mind, healthy thoughts and self confidence work much bigger miracles to staying young, at whatever age, for men or women. But the miracle of all miracles, without the slightest doubt in my mind, is love.

Have you ever actually seen a woman, any age, when she is truly loved, and deeply in love, ugly?
