Obsession - An Eotic Tale

Gloria Vanderbilt is the author of the book, 'Obsessions, an erotic tale'. It's one of the few books that came onto the shelf amongst other erotic novels, accompanied by the recommendation of Joyce Carol Oates, who considered it 'extraordinary tapestry of human passion; an interior world with great dose of erotism, suggestive and provocative.'

Vanderbilt is 85 years old. She has obviously not forgotten anything. The story starts off somewhat conventionally about a widow, Priscilla, who discovered some letters amongst her husbands belongings; the contents revealed in great details the secret sex life of her dead husband. These letters were written by Bee, a mysterious woman that could be the imagination of Priscilla or, possibly, Priscilla was the product of imagination of Bee. The reader is led to wonder what's real or imagination, what's fact or fantasy. In any case, the juicy erotic details are vivid and real enough to make the most promiscuous blush.

Vanderbilt was recently interviewed on television in Manhattan where her home is. She said she was permanently in love, the secret of her longevity, energy and erotic streak. Having been married 4 times and many lovers besides, including Howard Hughes, Gene Kelly, Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, this lady must know plenty of bedroom tricks. She insisted that her book is erotic but definitely not pornographic. Of that I think it depends on each reader's own frame of mind, in the beginning of the book, not at the end.
